Child & Teen Counseling
Children and teenagers sometimes need additional support navigating changes, relationships, emotions, behavior, school, family stress, or difficult experiences. Walsh Counseling Services has a number of clinicians who specialize in working with children and adolescents at different developmental stages.
Our approach depends on the age of the child, what is bringing them to counseling, and the individual clinician. Therapy with younger children may incorporate play and other developmentally appropriate activities, while work with adolescents often looks more like traditional individual counseling. Parents and caregivers may also be involved when appropriate.
Our clinicians work with children and teens experiencing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioral concerns, family changes, grief and loss, trauma, school-related stress, and relationship difficulties.
Because fit is especially important when choosing a therapist for a child or teenager, our staff can help families identify a clinician whose experience, approach, and availability are a good match.
