Work with Walsh Counseling Services

We’re selectively hiring licensed therapists, with a current priority on child and adolescent clinicians.

Picture
Walsh Counseling Services is a well-established outpatient counseling practice in Albuquerque. We are selectively hiring licensed therapists and social workers who want to provide thoughtful, high-quality therapy in a supportive, stable, and well-run group practice setting.

We are currently especially interested in child and adolescent clinicians, clinicians available for in-person work, and clinicians with late-afternoon availability.

We tend to be a good fit for clinicians who value both autonomy and support. Our clinicians have room to develop their own clinical style while also benefiting from steady referrals, excellent administrative support, billing support, supervision or consultation, comfortable offices, and a collaborative team environment.

This position may be a good fit for clinicians who want the benefits of private practice-style autonomy without having to manage their own billing, scheduling, marketing, credentialing, phone calls, office logistics, or administrative systems.

Why clinicians like working hereWalsh Counseling Services offers a strong combination of independence, stability, and support. Clinicians are trusted to do good clinical work without unnecessary micromanagement, while also having access to consultation, supervision, administrative help, and a steady referral base.

Our administrative team supports clinicians with scheduling, client communication, billing, phone calls, and many of the day-to-day details that can otherwise take clinicians away from clinical work.

We also have some of the most comfortable therapy offices in Albuquerque, located on the fourth floor of City Place at Uptown. Our therapy offices have floor-to-ceiling windows, natural light, and great views, creating a calm and professional setting for both clinicians and clients.

Compensation and benefits

Compensation depends on experience, licensure level, clinical specialty, availability, reliability, and overall fit with the practice.

Our typical hiring range is:
  • $50–$52 per completed session for newer or provisionally licensed clinicians
  • Up to $56 per completed session for independently licensed, experienced, or especially strong-fit clinicians

Compensation is reviewed over time and may increase based on independent licensure, experience, reliability, client retention, specialty training, supervision responsibilities, leadership needs, and overall contribution to the agency.

At 25 completed sessions per week, $52/session is approximately $65,000/year before benefits. At $56/session, 25 completed sessions per week is approximately $70,000/year before benefits.

Eligible clinicians may also receive:
  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • PTO accrual
  • Matching 401(k) after one year
  • Agency-supported training opportunities
  • Paid training opportunities when applicable
  • Supervision or clinical consultation
  • Strong administrative and billing support
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Possible year-end bonuses

Training and professional growth

We value clinicians who are clinically curious, thoughtful, and interested in continued growth. For the right clinician, Walsh Counseling Services may support additional training in areas such as child and adolescent therapy, trauma-informed treatment, EMDR, TF-CBT, play-informed therapy, parent/caregiver work, couples therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, or other approaches that fit the needs of the practice.

Provisionally licensed clinicians may also receive supervision toward independent licensure.

Who tends to do well here

Clinicians who thrive at Walsh Counseling Services are usually warm, grounded, reliable, clinically thoughtful, and comfortable working with a range of clients. They communicate respectfully with administrative and clinical staff, maintain timely documentation, take their clinical responsibilities seriously, and are open to supervision, consultation, and continued development.

This may be a good fit if you want:
  • A steady flow of referrals
  • A professional office setting
  • Strong admin and billing support
  • Flexibility without isolation
  • Supportive supervision or consultation
  • A healthy outpatient therapy environment
  • Opportunities for training and professional growth
  • Room to build a caseload that fits your interests and availability

Current areas of interest

We are especially interested in clinicians who enjoy working with children, adolescents, families, trauma, anxiety, depression, couples, or other common outpatient therapy concerns.

Child and adolescent therapists are especially encouraged to reach out.

We are also particularly interested in clinicians who are available for in-person work and/or late afternoon appointments.

We are open to independently licensed and provisionally licensed clinicians, including LMHCs, LPCCs, LMSWs, LCSWs, LMFTs, or equivalent New Mexico licenses.
